Candidate for Class President- Charles (Newt) McKissick

Picture

About Newt

Why I am running for President, Class of 1999

I have had many opportunities in the last 24 years which have paved the road for me today.  Many of the women and men who have made this life possible were people who had the audacity to throw their hat into the arena and dedicate themselves to creating the world that they wanted to inherit.  I am eternally grateful for their efforts and courage.
Today I have an opportunity to offer my talents, whatever they may be, to doing what I can to make our class what WE want it to be.  There has been much strife and conflict in the past.  There has been much to celebrate as well.  Our reunion was a beacon of hope for me because I saw the genuine interest we share in each other.  I want to contribute what I can to build on this energy.
Here is what I am about:
  1.  Extreme Ownership – I want you to know that I will own the good and the bad of the leadership this position requires.  You can count on me to listen and take your input onboard as we develop what our class is going to be.
  2. Boldly Engage – I am all in!  I have moved to the DC area and planted the McKissick flag.  I am excited about the chance have now to give back to our organization.        I will dedicate my time and energy to building our class into an organization we are proud of!
  3. Transparency and honesty – You will hear directly from me whenever you have a question and you will know how our team cane to any decision.  We will build trust in each other through consistent open and transparent comms!
  4. I want our class to be about something positive.  I know we all share a pride in our al ma mater, but I want to restore pride in the Class of 99.  We can harness our ability in a way that is in keeping with our shared values and leave a mark that others will want to emulate.

I want to run for Class President because I want to help lead our class in a positive way.  I want to put an end the divisiveness that is in our past and move forward in a way that builds us all up.  Give me the opportunity to serve our class, to serve our Academy, and to continue to serve our country.

Vote for Newt!
